Polyamides are the versatile curing agents available for epoxies that are produced from the reaction of dimersed and trimersed fatty acids with polyamines. They are easy to handle, their mixing ratios are not critical with the resins and they are compatible with almost any epoxy resins. They have a fairly long pot life. Adding this curing agent helps improve the strength of the epoxies and provides excellent adhesion to many substrates. Polyamides are sometimes considered as flexibilizers as well as curing agents. They provide good compatibility cure better under adverse conditions.
